The Western Pennsylvania Dystonia Support Group's mission is to provide the Greater Pittsburgh Area Community with a safe environment to obtain SUPPORT, INFORMATION, EDUCATION, create AWARENESS about Dystonia, and FUND RAISING to further research for the cure of Dystonia.
Our goals are to:
- Support patients and caregivers affected by Dystonia.
- Educate patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals.
- Encourage meaningful research toward identifying causes of Dystonia and their cures.
- Advocating for issues important to the Dystonia community, including creating greater awareness of Dystonia.
Meetings are open to anyone regardless of race, color, and national or ethnic origin. We welcome anyone afflicted with Dystonia; anyone who has an interest in Dystonia; as well as all visitors, family, friends, and guests to our meetings. There is no cost to attend our meetings. Meetings are held quarterly at various locations around the Greater Pittsburgh area.
The purpose of the group is to offer both emotional and physical support to those suffering from any form of Dystonia. We also include and encourage support attendance from family or friends. Learn about current treatments and therapies, keep updated on the latest issues regarding Dystonia and current research and view presentations from local area hospitals and doctors about Dystonia.
